New York - Day 2

Day 2 in New York started with a visit to the busiest Starbucks in the world - the one next to our hotel in Times Square.  Latte in hand, we headed to Top of the Rock.

The new Work Trade Center towers can be seen to the right, both with cranes on the top.
After Top of the Rock, we killed some time at the Lego store, and then took a tour of the NBC Studios which was pretty interesting.  We saw the Saturday Night Live stages (and saw Seth Meyers there), and went right by Ted Allen (host of Chopped) a couple of times.  I got excited and asked a girl next to me if she had seen him, and she had no idea who he was.  And then I referenced Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and she just looked confused, so I felt old.  We also went to the Today Show set, which is a lot smaller than you'd think.

Our next stop was St. Patrick's Cathedral, which was beautiful.  There was a mass going on, so we looked around less than I would have liked, but we still managed to make a full circuit of the inside.

After St. Patrick's we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.  We had dinner at Patsy's (yummy Italian food), where we saw Danny Aiello, and then went to see Wicked.  It was the first time seeing it for both of us, and it was fantastic.  Definitely the kind of thing you think of when you think of a Broadway production - big, showy, great music/costumes/scenery, and memorable.

Another great day in New York!
