Stitch Fix #3

I'm continuing to enjoy Stitch Fix.  Christmas in a box!  Shopping with no effort on my part!  FUN!

Jamie took all the pictures this time.  :)

The first thing I tried on was a pair of (not skinny!) jeans.  These are the "Sonja" Straight Leg Jeans from Kut From The Kloth ($78):

These were just okay.  They fit fine, but there was nothing special about them, and they were just... okay.  The wash, the fit, the pockets... eh.  Sending them back.

Next up, Daniel Rainn's "Chambers" Crochet Striped Silk Tank ($68):
I liked this one, but it just didn't fit well.  The details were pretty, and I loved that it was lined, as well, so I wouldn't have to wear a cami underneath.  I would just have to have it taken up an inch at each shoulder to not have my bra showing through the arm holes.  Going back.

Next up, Pomelo's "Downing" Striped Knit Shirt ($38):
I loved this one out of the box, but the gold-yellow of the stripes was an awful color on me!  I'm a big fan of yellow, but it has to be the right yellow or else I just look ill.  The material was also a bit itchy and uncomfortable.  Sending it back.

The next shirt was the "Bales" Harringbone Split Neck Tank from Skies are Blue ($48):
This one was a surprising (to both Jamie and me) winner! It was a bit bright and I wasn't sure I liked the pattern when I first saw it, but it fit really well and the neckline was super flattering.  It was also flowy and comfortable.  Keeping!

The last thing in the box was a dress - the "Spencer" Striped Jersey Dress from Market and Spruce ($54):
I really wanted to like this one, but it was just wrong.  I like the stripes and the scoop neck, but the direction of the stripes across my hips made me look bigger, and the dress overall was too clingy.  Not keeping.

So I'm keeping 1 out of the 5, but the style was right on the majority of the box.  I'm still loving Stitch Fix

If you'd like to try it, I'd love for you to use my referral link; I'll get some credit to use toward my next Fix if you do!

Gisèle's First Concert

Gisèle went to her first concert last night!  (Well, second, really, if you count the free outdoor Needtobreathe concert she saw as an infant - the one she has no memory of.)

So she went to her first concert last night - the Air1 Positive Hits tour, featuring Jamie Grace, Royal Tailor, Johnathan Thulin, Rapture Ruckus, Moriah Peters, and OBB.  They're some of her favorite artists on the Christian radio station (Air1) that we listen to all the time.  Her birthday is coming up, so the timing was perfect.  She sings along to all their songs in the car, and she has been hearing about the concert for weeks, never dreaming that she could possibly go.

When we told her we bought tickets for her birthday, she was thrilled.  We took her shopping to pick out a new outfit for it, and she was very particular about what was "concerty" and what wasn't.  (Though how she knows... ??)  She picked out a pink lace tank, black leather-looking pants with zippers, and a black & white flower-topped headband.  She looked adorable, and very "concerty."

We got "VIP" tickets, which meant we got in early and got to meet and take a picture with some of the artists.

Gisèle with Jamie Grace and Royal Tailor.
They all wished her a Happy Birthday, which completely made her day!  Look at that smile!
We also got seats right up front, which was great, because when the concert started, everyone rushed the stage!  Gisèle and I ended up at the very front, with no one between us and the stage.  She could see everything!

OBB, Moriah Peters, and Rapture Ruckus

Johnathan Thulin, Jamie Grace, and Royal Tailor
We had a fabulous time!  I think she'll be asking to go to a lot more!

She told me it was the "Best. Birthday Present. EVER."

France - 10/21/00

10/21/00

I'm listening to classical musique for the first time in a long time - I'd forgotten how much I liked it!  I've been thinking about Brandi coming while I've been playing the handheld solitaire game... I'm excited!  I've still got 8 months to wait, of course, but we're going to have a blast together!  I sliced my finger open tonight while washing a knife... not serious and not too painful (yet!) but it's a bleeder.  I have two bandaids on right now and it has soaked through both.  I made a really good chicken and pasta dish to go with my oil & vinegar tomatoes and enjoyed eating.  At 11:00pm, after the kitchen cleared out.  [Communal, TINY kitchen, shared by the entire floor of the dorm.]  I bought my tickets for Germany, and they only came to about $57 total roundtrip!  A lot better than I was expecting.  I leave in less than a week!  I decided I'm going to send Jamie the "egg," the knife, a couple pictures Sarah had of me, and whatever I can find in Germany.  I tried calling him at Mindy & Jeff's but no one was there... and when I tried to call Chris, he was at work.  On his birthday!  Yuck.  Oh yeah - I'm going to buy Jamie a pack of cards, too, to show him how they're different.  I need to go make my nightly trip to the man downstairs to get my key/lock greased.  I'm sure it won't work tonight, but I'll go ahead and try.  [I had problems with my door lock/key all year.]  G'night, Jamie.  I love you!
